Four Shortfalls of IT Delivery

Although the importance and the need for innovation and delivery through information technology have grown in recent years, some of the IT delivery requests do not yield the results and the benefits expected by the customers involved. It is crucial to understand why.

During 2017 we have conducted surveys to get feedback from business units on their assessment of the quality of the IT delivery during the year. The results of the surveys were balanced in relation to the effectiveness of IT delivery, but a few common themes were consistently highlighted which need to be addressed as critical areas of weakness and which will be discussed in this article.

We mainly identified top four shortfalls of IT delivery:

I) Lack of a clear “agreement” between the IT team and the business units:

Often business units will go directly into finding the solution to an issue without thoroughly understanding the problem that is being addressed or the benefits of the solution. In order for an IT delivery to be successful an “Agreement document” needs to be prepared and accepted by the business unit with a clear description of the problem and a clear business case which includes a clear definition of the success factors for the project implementation.

An agreement document does not have to be a long drawn document, as the project document would include the details, but it is required to ensure that the final output of the IT delivery will meet the business unit’s request and ensure that both sides have a common understanding of the problem and of the relative solution. The document should include at least the following items:

  • Executive Summary.
  • Deliverables (outputs).
  • Schedule/Plan.
  • Milestones: The milestones can be of type Customer Acceptance, Progress Measure, External Dependency and Benefits Realization. Milestones can occur beyond the end date of the initiative, especially for Benefit Realization. There should be at least 3 customer satisfaction milestones, at the start, middle and end.
  • Budget and estimated costs.
  • Prerequisites/Dependencies.
  • Risks.
  • Quality assurance: In addition to the standard quality assurance criteria, this section should include measurable success factors and define if an IT delivery is considered successful or not. If a project cannot identify the success factors needed for the successful implementation, the scope of the project could easily change during the implementation and the quality of the final phase of the project could easily be argued as there are no established measures of success. It is essential to have a measurable definition of the scope and what constitutes a successful implementation of the IT delivery.

Without a documented agreement from the business units, IT delivery could easily become less effective or even a failure due to delayed implementation, changes in scope or disagreements on what is expected from the required delivery.

II) Weak Project Management

In general project managers need to be able to manage and coordinate all of the project logistics. Many of the project managers in IT usually focus on the delivery of the technological solution and do not address many other factors that are essential for successful IT delivery such as:

  • Planning (activities and resources)
  • Defining Scope
  • Time Estimating
  • Cost Estimating
  • Developing a Budget
  • Documentation
  • Managing Risks and Issues
  • Monitoring and Reporting Progress
  • Controlling Quality
  • Benefits Realization

While the above list seems to be obvious and is documented in every project management methodology, numerous IT deliveries fail as the project manager focuses on a subset of the above and is not able to balance all of the above responsibilities. The project manager should focus on enabling the business unit’s expectations, delivery dates and should be able to differentiate between scope creep and valid user concerns if he/she wants to improve efficacy and reduce the number of project failures.

III) Lack of adequate Planning:

In general, the performance of successful delivery is directly related to the effectiveness of the planning phase. Unfortunately, many IT teams are not patient and do not take the adequate time to have the thorough plan to achieve the requested goals. The lack of planning usually results in an untimely delivery of the solution, improper scope or objective delivered, and overspending the agreed cost/budget.

Most plans of successful projects had realistic milestones with unrealistic timeline; or they’ll use outdated planning model that has nothing to do with today’s business environment. IT delivery plans need to match with current business unit’s trends, organizational objectives, as well as the end users’ needs. If they don’t, the project will quickly be doomed to fail.

Templars Disney film National Treasure

Whether stars of the Disney film National Treasure or pawns of modern day political and commercial propaganda, the Knights Templar have taken root as one of the world’s leading mystery groups. But what is the truth? Did they really have a great secret? Did they really hide treasure? Were they really guardians of the Holy Bloodline? Let’s take a look.

Originally supposedly a group of  geekowear nine knights (debatable), taken from the ruling nobility in the region of France known as Champagne who collected themselves together in Jerusalem around 1118 AD and formed the now infamous Knights Templar. All of this cannot be totally proven from the texts – however it is repeated so often that it becomes true. In all likelihood they had been formed in France years before.

They were pledged, it is said, to commit their lives and work to a strict code of rules and on the face of it were simply ordained to ensure the safe passage of pilgrims to the Holy Land. The knights request this task of the first King Baldwin of Jerusalem, who refuses. He then dies supposedly under mysterious circumstances only to be replaced by Baldwin II who then almost immediately grants them this privilege. For the next nine (there’s that number again) years the knights excavate beneath the Temple of Solomon (which didn’t ever exist) in complete secrecy and the Grand Master returns to Europe, supposedly with secrets that have been hidden for hundreds of years. Very quickly the knights achieve a special dispensation from the Pope to allow them to charge interest on loans – indicating their swift path to wealth. Soon the great Cathedral building period arrives across Europe with the new found architectural “secrets” discovered by the crusaders. This new found knowledge may very well have come from some of the discoveries made by the Templars, especially when we consider that the man responsible for energizing the building program was none other than St. Bernard – the same Bernard who gave the Order of the Knights Templar their rules and who was related by blood to various members. The same St. Bernard indicated in the propaganda of the Arthurian and Grail literature.

The Templars grew in wealth and power. Their land holding and banking system made them one of the most powerful and feared groups in Europe. Virtually nobody could match their international strength. According to George F. Tull in Traces of the Templars they were also “well placed to obtain relics” as they held the respect of nobility and had many strategically placed premises across the Holy Land.

Near Loughton-on-Sea in England there are several Templar connected sites. The Temple here was “well provided with liturgical books, plate and vessels of silver, silver gilt, ivory and crystal, vestments, frontals and altar cloths. Among the relics kept there were two crosses containing fragments of the True Cross and a relic of the Holy Blood” whatever that might have been – it was not a bloodline. Tull also tells us of how some of these relics entered Britain, “Sometimes the ships returned with more specialized cargo, as when in 1247 Br. William de Sonnac, Master of the Temple in Jerusalem, sent a distinguished Knight Templar to bring to England and present to King Henry III ‘a portion of the Blood of our Lord, which He shed on the Cross for the salvation of the world, enclosed in a handsome crystalline vessel.’ The relic was authenticated under seal by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, the bishops, abbots and nobles of the Holy Land.” In Surrey the Templars held land known then as Temple Elfold with 192 acres of arable land. Here again in 1308 there was mention of a grail and a chalice. It is therefore obvious that part of the wealth of the Templars came from the propaganda tools of the medieval reliquary business, proving their astute business acumen and their ability to root out those tools. They were also incidental in spreading the cult of St. George, especially when we consider that they knew of his shrine in Lydda.

But in the early fourteenth century King Philip of France organized their downfall and the supposed secrets and wealth of the Templars disappears.

At their trials the Templars were not only accused of worshipping the sacred head, but also the veneration of the serpent. As Andrew Sinclair points out in The Secret Scroll, another Templar emblem was the foliated staff of Moses, the very same staff, which turned into a serpent and was itself emblematic of the serpent religious cult and healing.

The Rosslyn Missal, written by Irish monks in the twelfth century shows in itself Templar crosses with great dragons and sun discs. Upon the Secret Scroll itself is the symbol of the twelve tribes of Israel, the breastplate of Aaron (who’s serpent staff is said to be in the Ark) with twelve squares signifying the twelve tribes surmounted by a serpent. The serpent, ruling the tribes, “. . . the Serpent as a symbol obtained a prominent place in all the ancient initiations and religions. Among the Egyptians, it was s symbol of Divine Wisdom.” (The Secret Scroll, Andrew Sinclair, which of course has been dated by scholars to the 16th or even 18th century.) Many people believe that quite a few of the Templars and their secrets escaped to Scotland and the dawning of a new age of Freemasonry emerged in later years – thought to be directly from the Templars.

In the year 1314 King Edward of England invades Scotland, hoping to bring an end to the border battles. Meeting the Scottish army at Bannock Burn he is surprised by a force of well-trained men fighting for the Scots. The tide is turned and Scotland achieves independence, even if only for three years. The standard history has it that these well-trained men that turned the tide against the well-trained English army were nothing more than camp followers and servants. Many though, now believe that these were the famous knights Templar, who had taken root in Scotland and hidden away from Catholic tyranny. Strangely immediately after the battle Robert the Bruce, the new Scottish King, rewards the Sinclair family with lands near Edinburgh and Pentland. The very same lands associated with hundreds of Templar graves, sites, symbols and much more, such as Balantrodoch (Temple.)

An indication of the popular liking for the Templars is shown in the Peasant’s Revolt of Wylam Tyler in 1381 AD when a mob marched in protest of the oppressive taxes placed upon them. Strangely they did not harm the old Templar buildings, but instead turned their attentions on those of the Catholic Church. In one instance they actually carried things out of a Templar church in London to burn the items in the street, rather than damage the building. It may be that this uprising was a natural incident, or it may be that it was inspired by the actions of a hidden and now secret society of the Templars – hidden because of the new Catholic hatred towards them. If it is the case that the Templars did indeed inspire this revolt then, even though they were not successful, they tried again a hundred years later and forced the Reformation. It was around this period (15th Century) that the first records of Scottish and York Masonic meetings appear.

10 4-Letter Words You Need In Your Vocabulary

When you were growing up did your parents teach you not to use 4-letter words?

Mine sure did.

Oh, they didn’t mean “all” 4-letter words, just a select few but those were a real no-no in my house.

Well, today I am going to list 10 4-letter words that you should not only be using but should be living if you want your online business to succeed.

Work – “sustained physical or mental effort to overcome obstacles and achieve an objective or result”

While this is a word we would all like to get out of our vocabulary it’s 1 that we can’t avoid – especially when you’re first starting your online business.

There are no true “get rich” schemes or programs although there are many that make that offer. And it’s true that someone does “get rich” with them – the ones who “worked” to set them up!

Time – ” the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues”

While we would all like less “work”, we would like to have more “time” – there’s just never enough of it!

But in online businesses there is no such thing as “instant”. Yes, there are those who promise “instant” results but the truth is – it takes “time” (sometimes a lot of it) to achieve those “instant” results.

Plan – “a method for achieving an end”

Unfortunately, most people who start online business don’t understand what a “plan” is or how to create one. We are all so busy learning and trying new things that we forget we need to map out the steps we need to take to build a successful online business.

Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, there are many ways to build a successful online business. The trick is identifying the 1 that will work for your business and then staying with it until you succeed.

Give – “to put into the possession of another for his or her use”

Most of us have heard the saying, “It’s better to give than receive.” And it’s true!

To be a successful online business person we must continually give the best we have to offer. We must “give” quality information, products or services to prove our worth to potential customers. And if we provide something worthy of being shared, we can have our gift spread the word about our business (also known as viral marketing).

Sell – “to deliver something to another for money”

Most people don’t like to “sell” things. In fact, many of us have been taught to be wary of salespeople.

It’s because we don’t want to “sell” that there are programs promising “no selling required.” But before you leap to 1 of those offers, stop and think about it. If no one has to sell anything how can money be made?

The sad fact is, you have to “sell” something to make money online. When you recommend products or services, when you make suggestions, when you negotiate partnerships, you’re selling. So if your online business is to succeed, you must learn to sell!

Taking Online English Lessons – What All Courses Should Teach You

Taking an online class can sometimes leave you wondering if you are going to learn anything. Especially when you are learning to speak a new language, you wonder if you are learning anything from the class. There are certain things that every language class should teach you when you are taking online English lessons. People who speak English do so with an intricate understanding of what the rules are and what rules have exceptions. To be taught all the rules and guidelines of the English language one must first be taught vocabulary, how to pronounce words like English speakers do, and how to understand what someone is saying.

The first step when learning a new language is to learn words that are commonly spoken. Every word you learn adds another step to your learning process. English words can cause trouble because of all the synonyms, homonyms, and words that have only slightly different meanings. Learning more vocabulary terms you can find new ways to say things in English, and you will grow surer of your ability to communicate effectively. Many courses will have special tricks and acronyms to help you remember rules and vocabulary. Certainly, taking online English lessons is not easy, and it takes a lot of study and practice to recall vocabulary words.

Being able to sound like you belong with great English tone and pronunciation will be important as you learn. Often you can say a word with a foreign accent and it will still sound like a foreign word because of the way you pronounce it. Only speaking with someone that is a native speaker will get you to pronounce words correctly. There are natural differences between how people from different areas of the same country pronounce certain words. Accents can be extremely difficult even with speakers of the same language. A good course of taking online English lessons should instruct you on the proper way to pronounce things without accents.

Meta Words Get You Traction Marketing Online

Much has been written about the importance of sprucing up your site with Meta words, and Meta tags (which I will talk about in a future article) so that you can earn a higher ranking in the search engine. You need to create an elaborate and comprehensive strategy, and put it to work. Therefore the combination of words you use must be thought through correctly and decisively so when someone is searching for what you offer the Meta words will draw them into your site.

To some reading this article the term Meta words may seem a bit difficult but in reality they are not that difficult to come up with or create. One of the easiest ways to draw up a list of potential Meta words to use on your site or landing page is to visit other people’s sites that are similar. Once on the site-click on view source in the tool bar and you will see all the Meta words the site you are viewing is using to get traction with the search engines. While this is a reasonable strategy to get you started, you don’t want to stop there, what I mean is you don’t want to depend on that type of research. After all, if you only use what the other sites use than your putting yourself in the same pool as them, and if the site has more traction than yours it will receive precedence. You need to come up with words that differentiate you from the rest, not become just a copy cat. When you are perceived as offering the same type of services as everyone else, you have to contend with price competition, and that’s a losing game for the online entrepreneur.

So, how can you draw up your own effective list of effective words?

Where else the World Wide Web, there are many different sites available that can help you gather all the words you need, just make sure that they fit the style of your site, and the market you want to relate too. Once you’ve assembled about 15 or 20 keywords and phrases go to your favorite search engine and plug them into the search bar and see what comes up under those words. Now on occasion go back to the search engine and add a few words at a time and see how your site ranks, and hopefully you will see that your site will be moving up the ranks in the search engine.

Now what you want to do is start submitting your site to the various different search engines out there to get exposure. Doing this may take some time because every search engine has its own set of criteria and rules for you to follow, some sites may have you fill out a formal submission application. In my experience marketing online I only had to submit an application once or twice so don’t get discouraged

Don’t make the mistake of overloading your site with unnecessary repetition, some sites discourage this activity and may consider you’re abusing the keyword process. Keep it simple use appropriate words and expressions that convey the theme of your site, display them properly at the top of the page as headers-and sub topics, and your ranking in the search engine will increase substantially. Good luck with your site, and enjoy the wealth of marketing online!

How Online Video Game Sites Have Changed the Way We Treat Game Reviews and Previews

There was a time when video games were judged in two ways: your friends and magazines. The introduction of online gaming sites and communities has changed all of that.

The media surrounding games has gone from one of physical word-of-mouth to online word-of-mouth. While friends still tell each other about the fun they’ve had on this game or that, the truth is that the culture of gaming has shifted almost entirely to online coverage, podcasts, and forums.

Podcasts, particularly, have given a louder voice to the gamers. While anyone can create a simple podcast, it takes a special group to continue it while treating the culture of gaming with respect. Many great podcasts deal with the subject material both professionally and maturely.

With the closing of many major magazines over the last few years, the divide has grown even further. The death of Electronic Gaming Monthly, Games for Windows, and others has taken a toll on the “professional” industry and moved many of the former magazine employees over to either the online side or game development itself.

This movement has also given more legitimacy to the web. With the former EGM Editor moving to his own created site along with a few other former EGMers, the reliability of web sources has grown tremendously. No longer are game sites looked down upon.

Legitimacy has also come from the look and design of web sites. Gone are the days of simple static web pages. The look and feel of even what an amateur can accomplish has increased dramatically. Web sites do not use frames but CSS. The rise of these complex systems have also greatly increased the the web developers ability to create content very quickly.

The speed of online game sites is another contributing factor to their growing popularity. There was a time when consumers had to wait a month before finding out about new games, reviews, and news from the industry. Now, sites can have this news up almost instantaneously. Not only can they post articles quickly, but live blogging and video functions have created new avenues in which to view media presentations.

Long-time gamers will likely tell you that while they miss the physical magazines of yesteryear, the shift to online coverage has been a welcome one. The ease of discovery of new games, the ability to interact with others like themselves, and creation of a gaming culture are all reasons for this.

The days of video game magazines will not be forgotten. For many, those were not only the early days of video games, but the early days of their very lives. Growing up with magazines may have endeared them to their heart, but everybody grows up. Online game sites have simply increased the coverage gamers see of their favorite products, and that’s never a bad thing.

New Property is More Advantageous to Buy Than Resale Property

Since not everyone is wealthy enough to buy property with an outright cash payment, the price of property is a major issue to be taken into account when one considers buying a property. Most of the time, property is bought through availing housing loan from banks or private finance companies. As this is so, prospective property purchasers tend to seek out the best property deals available in the market before making their purchases, comparing between new properties and resale ones. In many cases, buying a new property has its advantages over buying a resale property albeit its higher initial cost.

In the past, only the rich and famous had the ability to afford luxurious properties, but today, it is no longer so. With the increase in willingness of banks to grant loans to those with steady income and repaying capability, owning a comfortable home is no longer just an unattainable dream for everyone. Today, just about anyone can own a decent good new property if the above conditions are met.

One of the main advantages of buying a new property over a resale property is the time and money that one can save on in improving the interior as well as the exterior design of the property. As new properties tend to be designed to fit modern standards, owners of new properties need not fork out extra cash on renovations and alterations, which are extra expenditure for resale property owners. In addition, purchasers of new properties will not have to put up with the hassles of dealing with contractors fixing problems such as leakages, repair and replacement of defective fittings which tends to come along with older resale properties. In the long run, these repair costs can accumulate to a rather huge amount which is an obvious disadvantage of owning resale properties.

With all the extra cost incurred through renovations and repairs, together with all the unnecessary hassles one have to put up with, this makes the purchase of resale properties not as valuable for money as it initially seems. So why put ourselves through all these needless headaches when we can pamper ourselves with quality living by just spending a little more?

As for the condominium property sector, a new condo may be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that many resale condos do not offer, this gives new condos an edge over resale ones. A new condo, with luxurious clubhouses, full equipped gymnasium and other facilities such as playgrounds, outdoor dining area, jacuzzi, swimming pools, bundled along with cozy bedrooms, elegant bathrooms and functionally designed kitchen, will definitely gives more value for money and benefits for the owner as compared to owning a resale condo with lesser communal facilities.

Plastic Fabrication

Plastics Guide a how to

The first man made plastic was invented in 1862 by Alexander Parkes named Parkensine it was a cellulose based Plastic.

Bakelite was the first fully synthetic made plastic which was manufatured in 1907 by Leo Baekeland a chemist in New York. It was a resin called Bakelite. The earliest plastic.

A term often used to describe a hard, dense, laminated plastic material made by applying heat and pressure to layers of paper, glass cloth or cotton fabrics impregnated with various synthetic resins. These materials have good mechanical strength and dimensional stability with excellent dielectric properites. Used in a variety of areas such as in electrical terminal boxes, aircraft cable pulleys, bearings, gears and transformers, etc.

AVALABLE IN: Sheet from 0.8mm – 100mm thick. Rod & tube from 4mm .

Since then many other Plastics have been invented or discovered. In general these are:

The most common engineering thermoplastic in use today. Manufactured for engineering in several grades, mainly Type 6 and 66. Most common throughout is Type 6 which has an excellent combination of toughness, mechanical strength and impact resistance. Glass filled, black MOS2, graphite and special lubricated grades are also available. Used for technical parts, bushes, bearings, gears, wear pads, rollers, pulleys, etc.

AVAILABLE IN: Sheet from 0.5mm – 100mm thick in varying sizes. Rod from 5mm – 500m. Tubes are normally cast to order.

Non-corrosive, chemical and oil resistant. PVC has excellent electrical insulating properties and is self extinguishing. Used for electrical parts, laboratory equipment, photographic and chemical tanks, fume cupboards, etc. Easy to cut, shape, weld and fabricate. Maximum temperature for use 60°C.

AVAILABLE IN: Sheet from 1.5mm – 70mm thick. Rod from 6 – 200mm.

HDPE: High Density Polyethlenes are resistant to a wide range of chemicals. They have excellent insulation properties, practically no moisture absorption and maintain their properties even at low temperatures. HDPE is ideal for cutting boards in food processing areas. The most common grades used in engineering are UHMWPE and HMWPE.

UHMWPE: Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene has the highest impact strength and best abrasion resistance of any thermoplastic today. Self lubrication, ideal for wear strips, etc. Used widely in the food and packaging industries for guide rails, rollers, scraper blades, star wheels, feed worms, chute linings, etc.

HMWPE: High Molecular Weight Polyethylene provides a good compromise in price and properties for general engineering use. Used in many similar applications to UHMWPE, but where abrasion resistance is not critical.

AVAILABLE IN: A variety of sheet from 1.0mm – 100mm thick in natural, black & green. Rod from 10 -250mm .

Virtually unbreakable.

The toughest glazing material known today, polycarbonate has an impact strength 250 times greater than glass of equal thickness. Used primarily for all kinds of safety, vandal resistant and theft deterrent glazing. Some common uses include machine guards, window shields for cranes and forklifts, safety visors, riot shields, etc. Used for glazing in schools, bus shelters, factories and buildings, sports complexes, etc.

AVAILABLE IN: Sheet from 1mm up to 12mm thick. Rod & Tube also available.

Commonly known as Perspex®, Acrylic is an ideal replacement for glass in many areas. It is widely used for signs, lighting, safety glazing, machine guards, instrument covers, display units, windows for aircraft, boats and caravans, cab glazing for tractors and other machinery. Acrylic has outstanding weathering capability with exceptional clarity. Less than half the weight of glass, yet up to 15 times more resistant to breakage.

AVAILABLE IN: Sheet from 1.5mm to 50mm thick in a range of sizes and colours. Opal acrylic available for signs and light boxes, Prismatic for light covers and skylights. Clear rod up to 150mm . Tube form 6mm OD to 500 mm OD.

Offering superb properties.

Commonly known as TEFLON®. PTFE has the best chemical resistance of any plastic. Very high heat resistance, extremely good electrical properties combined with a very low coefficient of friction make it a unique material. Used for bearing pads, gaskets, packing rings, insulators and many chemical plant components. Also produced with glass, carbon or bronze fillers to improve mechanical properties.

Facts About Hemp Plastic

The mention of hemp brings with it a lot of history. Denim king Levi Strauss was known to use hemp fabric in the early products and the legendary plastic car made by Henry Ford was believed to be made up of hemp as well. Hemp can be used to make paper, the seeds of this plant can be used as bird feed, it is also a clean source of fuel; to be frank, the utility list extends to infinity. So what is hemp, and can it fulfill its promise to end our environmental woes?

‘Hemp’ comes from the plant Cannabis sativa, and this is where the controversy begins. Yes, hemp is indeed related to marijuana; however, it is the industrial hemp that we’re considering here. Industrial hemp has very low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, the rogue ingredient that induces a state of hallucination for people who consume it. It is the amount of THC present in the plant that determines its use in the industrial sense or as a medicinal or recreational drug. Simply put, hemp is the strain of the Cannabis sativa, that has low levels of THC, and is therefore, absolutely safe. Countries that allow the production of industrial hemp issue licenses to strictly prevent any kind of misuse.

Hemp Plastic Facts You Should Know

Traditionally, plastics have been derived from petrochemicals, which are mainly toxic. Plants, on the other hand, are also a source of cellulose, that can be used to make biodegradable and organic plastic. As hemp happens to be one of the richest sources of cellulose, it is only natural that purists will advocate its use, considering its ecological benefits.

The Features
Hemp plastic is biodegradable and recyclable. If you thought being eco-friendly undermined its sturdiness, you couldn’t be more wrong. The stiffness level of hemp plastic can match up to regular plastic. Hemp plastic offers good thermal, UV and dimensional stability. It is resistant to heat; however, the most outstanding feature of a few varieties of hemp plastic is that they are flame resistant too. Finally, if Henry Ford could imagine creating a car with this material, we can perhaps believe that it indeed is “ten times stronger than steel”.

The Utility
It is a pity that with so many useful qualities, we don’t see hemp plastic being used in our everyday life, the way it ought to be. Hemp plastic can easily substitute the existing plastic in products like cell phone chargers, blenders, sockets, laptop covers, etc. Currently, hemp plastic is being used to manufacture audio, video, toys, automobile parts and packaging materials.

The Specialty
Hemp fiber is one of the strongest natural fibers known to us. As scientists keep looking for ways to address the ecological damage that conventional plastics have caused, here is a material that can be manufactured to be 100% biodegradable. Hemp plastic is known to be several times durable as compared to polypropylene plastic, and it comes without all the health and safety threats.

The Irony
What we have here is a product that is natural, does not pose a threat to the environment, does not require the use of petrochemicals or glass fibers and is derived from a plant that requires less maintenance. Are we trying to shut our eyes to the obvious solution for the mayhem caused by conventional plastics? Unfortunately, in the case of hemp plastic, it is the tree’s proximity to marijuana that caused its undoing. Recent times have thankfully started to witness a change in the outlook towards hemp, but we still have a long way to go.

Plastics keep reminding us of the damage that we have done to our planet, all under the guise of convenience. As hemp products have started making a comeback of sorts into our daily life, you will be surprised to know the extent of hemp uses. Take a green initiative now and do your bit to conserve the environment.

Tips on Choosing Plastic Manufacturing Companies

Many businesses that use plastic parts are not going to necessarily manufacture those parts on their own. There are plastic manufacturing companies that can provide you with what you need, but there are many choices that are available. Like anything in business, you would want to make a wise choice so that your business would benefit from the relationship that you have with the company. Here are some tips that can help you to choose plastic manufacturing companies that are going to provide you with what you need consistently.

One thing that you need to consider is the type of material that is used. This is something that may vary from one business to another and not all plastic manufacturing companies are going to handle all types of plastic materials. Some of the different options that may be available through these companies include thermoplastic urethanes, molded polyethylene, polypropylene moldings and nylon molding. Of course, there are also many other options that are available and you should verify the fact that the company works with that type of material regularly and is able to handle it effectively.

Have you considered the location of the plastic manufacturing company that you are going to use? There may be one that is located in your general area and this can benefit you in a number of ways. In some cases, it will help to reduce the amount of time that it takes for you to get the products that you need. This is either because they are going to work with you as a local business or because of reduced shipping times. If you choose a plastic manufacturer that is not in your area, make sure that they are going to work with you as is necessary to keep you up and running.

Some plastic manufacturing companies are also going to offer other services which will help you in your overall project design and implementation. The engineering services that are available through these plastic companies may assist you in the creation of a design that is going to be right for you and your product. They may also be able to analyze the products to see if there are any improvements that are possible and can make any modifications that are necessary. Additional services that may be offered through the right plastic manufacturing company include assembly services. This may be of benefit to companies that would like to have a finished product, rather than the raw parts which will need to be trimmed, drilled or threaded.

There are many industries that can benefit from using the right plastic manufacturing company. These include the transportation industry, agriculture, marine, lawn and garden, exercise equipment, retail display and even the food processing industry. Many plastic manufacturing companies are going to cater to a number of these industries. You can either choose one that is going to provide plastic products to many industries or you may want to choose one that is more specific to your needs. As long as they provide you with a quality product in a timely fashion, you will be able to benefit by your relationship with them.
